ABOUT ME
I have over 20 years of research experience, with my main research lines focusing on economic evaluation, cost studies, and the economic burden of disease in the context of healthcare technologies and public health. I have published more than 60 articles in high-impact national and international academic journals, as well as books, book chapters, and technical reports for regional and national public institutions. I have participated in various European H2020 projects and both competitive and non-competitive national projects, and I am an external reviewer for several scientific journals, such as Health Policy, European Journal of Health Economics, BMC Health Services Research, Applied Health Economics and Health Policy, Clinical Rheumatology, Health Economics, etc. I am currently an Associate Editor of the journal Value in Health. I was the President of the Spanish Health Economics Association (AES) (2013-2014) and a founding member of the European Health Economics Association (EuHEA) (2012-2014). For over 10 years, I have been a member of various regional committees in the Health Department in Catalonia related to pharmaceuticals, and I am a member of the Advisory Committee for the Financing of Pharmaceutical Provision of the Ministry of Health in Spain. I completed my PhD at the Health Economics Research Group (HERG), Brunel University, in the UK, with a scholarship from the Medical Research Council. I also completed the DEA at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona. I hold a master’s degree in Applied Economics from Pompeu Fabra University and a master’s in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics. I have a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona. I am passionate about teaching, both to undergraduate and postgraduate students and other audiences, and I enjoy disseminating a critical perspective on knowledge.
I am also currently the academic secretary of the Department of Economics and Business at the University of Lleida
